A Boho, Mountain, Destination Wedding at Montana's Hart Ranch

Lauren + Chris

June 11 | Bozeman, Montana

Hauling themselves and over a hundred of their best friends from the shores of New Jersey to the mountains of Southern Montana, Lauren and Chris threw one heck of a party to celebrate saying I Do. Their boho themed, destination wedding at Hart Ranch took my breathe away as they surrounded themselves with peonies, succulents, agates, mountains, and loved ones.

The journey to Montana began four years ago at a crab house on the Jersey Shore. For a year, Chris, a detective, visited the restaurant where Lauren worked. Eventually, they connected, fell in love, and bought a house.

Together, they weathered the destruction of their brand new home by Hurricane Sandy. They struggled through their catastrophe and worked hard to rebuild what was lost.

Their hardship made their relationship stronger, and last year, Chris popped the question in style while they watched the Wishes fireworks show from the top of the California Grill at Disneyland.

There is something about destination weddings in Montana that make my heart happy, and Lauren's and Chris' certainly exemplified happiness. Their guests arrived days in advance, and when it came time for the climax of their celebration, the wedding, they'd already spent a week playing together in my favorite spot and backyard, Big Sky Country.

It's difficult to pick a favorite moment from such a massive celebration, but what I won't forget is the way Chris looked at Lauren. (I have no idea if Chris always wears his heart on his sleeve, but when it comes to Lauren, he certainly does.)

Thank you so much, Lauren and Chris, for trusting a stranger living thousands of miles away to capture your wedding day. Please come back to Montana. We miss you already!
