After I unplugged from social media while Huntley and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary, Facebook welcomed me back with this beautiful post:
There’s no doubt I felt extra sentimental after 10 days on a beach with the love of my life, but Kari’s post would have choked me up had I just crawled my way through a swamp. Over the past year, I've seen dozens of equally adorable posts from these two lovebirds. Whether they're lobbing water balloons or cuddling up at a drive-in theater, these two make me smile.
Kari and Philip tied the knot on June 21, 2014, at Rock Creek Resort, one of a handful of beautiful Red Lodge Wedding Venues. Located in the Beartooth Mountains, Rock Creek fit their love for fly fishing and made the perfect backdrop for a mountain wedding.
Their first look set the perfect tone to the day. Though I documented the moment from 30 feet away, I felt Kari’s nervous excitement. Shortly after the first look, it began to sprinkle. We lucked out when the storm cleared in time for the ceremony.
Kari and Philip filled their day with personal touches like the ceremony arch Philip designed and the cake Kari made with her aunt. Their friends Jessica and Becky of the band Jaded Ladies rocked the reception.
With the party started, Kari and Philip snuck away for a sunset shoot. When the sun refused to come out and play, we pulled out a light and made our own sun.
The night ended with their friends and family surrounding them. As they collectively sang and swayed to "Hotel California" the love these people shared became palpable.
Today marks their one year anniversary, but their playful spirits ensure they’ll celebrate many more. Congratulations, Kari and Philip!
