Jessica + Ted

I met Jessica when we were still kids working our way through college with work study jobs in the library. It didn't take me long to bond with Jessica, a fellow tomboy. For two years, we did just about everything together: backpacked, worked, clowned around in the back of the library, edited the yearbook. She even took charge as florist at my wedding. And then life took us each by the hand and led us separate ways. It took 14 years, social media, and Jessica's marriage to Ted to reconnect.
Jessica and Ted had a Missoula wedding on June 28, 2014. Throughout the day, this incredible bride made numerous arrangements to ensure a laid-back day. Jessica, knowing Ted would neither want nor appreciate getting ready photos, asked that I photograph him in his element instead. That morning, I met Ted at his gym for his rather impressive arm routine. (I think he could have bench pressed me with one arm.)
Jessica elected for more traditional getting ready photos for herself. With the ceremony not starting until sunset hour, Jessica's time prior to the first look felt like a pampered day at the spa.
For the first look, Jessica surprised Ted and arranged for it to take place at Washington–Grizzly Stadium. After meeting each other on the 35-yard line, this playful couple spent more time tossing the football than they did posing for pictures.
From the stadium, we drove to the ceremony and reception venue, the Museum of Mountain Flying.
The reception inside the hangar photographed beautifully as the shiny planes made a perfect background. Even more beautiful than the venue was watching how much Jessica and Ted adored each other.
The chance to reconnect after more than a decade and meet Ted has been such a pleasure, Jessica. Happy one year anniversary, Jessica and Ted!
